Job Description:

PPG has an exciting opportunity available within our Architectural Coatings market as a Technical Advisor in the Cranberry Twp., PA area! If you enjoy customer service, relationship building, and advising, then this may be the opportunity for you!

As a Technical Advisor , you will be a key part of the overall selling effort. PPG markets and sells superior technical expertise in conjunction with its products and services. PPG customers place a high value on this expertise as it helps them run their operations in a cost effective manner. Superior service is a key to maintaining existing business and developing sales position and strategies to acquire new business.

Key Responsibilities :


  • Interacting with both Internal and External PPG customers. This may include members of field sales, PPG owned stores and dealer personnel, as well as the DIY store and/or consumer.
  • Provide accurate Technical information on all PPGAC product lines including but not limited to all brands under PPG to include PPG/Pittsburgh Paints, Olympic Stains, Glidden (THD), Glidden Professional, and Flood.
  • Answering an average of 90% calls, 10% emails/meetings/training and development.
  • Provide sales team and end-users with recommendations for products, product systems, prep and application methods.
  • Complaint resolution and cost-effective negotiations.
  • Work closely with Marketing, Customer Service, and R&D on products, potential issues, testing and field trials.
  • Ability for minor travel about 10%

Qualifications :


  • Bachelor's degree or significant paint-related work experience in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong communication, telephone etiquette skills and customer service.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite is necessary (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point).
  • Must have a good attendance and on-time record.
  • Must be able to work independently and in a group self-managed team environment.
  • Ability to analyze information in an expedited manner to provide resolution.
  • Good time management, attention to details, and organizational skills are imperative.

Desired:

  • Experience in architectural coatings sales or field experience is helpful.
  • NACE, SSPC, or MPI certification would be nice.
  • Previous experience in retail sales, customer service, or telesales is helpful
  • Fluent in a second language (French/Spanish) would be nice.
