Job Description:

We are looking for candidates with expertise in both Information Technology and Business Administration for the role of Global Actuarial System Business Analyst.   As a member of our team, the selected individual is responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks.  The candidate will work closely with business, technical and project management teams to understand, document, and communicate business needs and requirements for the Actuarial systems.  Also, responsible for all documentation including business and technical requirements, user acceptance testing, user and training guides, and release notes.   In addition, the candidate will be responsible for month end book close and ensure it is successful.   

Responsibilities include:


  • Define, develop and document business requirements for .Net and SQL Server applications in line with current SDLC & project management standards

  • Engage with business users to define requirements, prototype functionality and clarify needs

  • Plan, facilitate, and conduct requirements gathering sessions, meetings, and presentations.

  • Works extensively with our team and end users to establish thorough test plans and performs system testing in support of project initiatives.

  • Responsible for bug tracking and enhancement documentation. Tests enhancements & bug fixes to ensure desired results are met.

  • Hands on approach to problem solving and solution delivery

  • Perform other ad-hoc duties in the support of project delivery and business benefit

  • Manage customer relationships and expectations by developing a communication process to keep others up-to-date on project results

  • Support the successful delivery of projects on time and on budget

  • Support system conversions, upgrades, enhancements

  • Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders

  • Provide production assistance for the applications we support.

  • Research, report, and implement simple system fixes

Qualifications - External

     


    • College degree in Business, Information Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience.

    • 5+ year experience in a software development environment as a Business Analyst

    • 3+ year experience with SQL and .Net technologies, along with a solid understanding of the SDLC

    • Excellent ability to create, review, update any documentation with little supervision

    • Strong analytical, conceptual thinking and troubleshooting skills

    • Must be organized, detail oriented and have a strong commitment towards the delivery of accurate projects

    • Excellent interpersonal skills

    • Excellent written and oral communications skills

    • Excellent technical writing skills

    • Excellent presentation skills

    • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office

    • Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine solutions

    • Ability to quickly learn new applications and equipment

    • Project Management experience a plus.

    • 3+ year experience in Insurance industry, Actuarial experience is a plus

    • Experience with Agile methodology, writing user stories, managing scrum calls, prioritizing backlog, etc. a plus.
