Job Description:

Belimo is a global leader in the development, production and marketing of actuator solutions for controlling heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems.  Actuators, control valves and sensors make up the company's core business.

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines that projects require. This includes the mechanical design and development of control valves for the commercial HVAC industry, in addition to managing resource plans, budgets, timelines, testing and all technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and product quality from conception to completion. The position will interface with different groups within the company as well as external vendors and customers. The engineer will work closely with other Engineers, Technicians, Procurement and Quality within a project-oriented, hands-on, team environment. The position requires strong documentation, presentation and communication skills, in addition to project management.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

The Senior Project Engineer is part of the Project Engineering Team and reports to the Project Engineering Team Leader and bears full responsibility for agreed upon goals and objectives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design/development, produce and qualify new products according to the Belimo project process


• Lead all engineering and technical aspects of a project


• Organize, schedule and coordination of qualification testing


• Hands-on work in test lab to support quality, development tests, post life analysis and equipment maintenance and design


• Create detailed engineering test reports and presentations


• Create and maintain resource plan, project/task management tool, budget and timelines


• Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project leader and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support


• Create engineering documentation including drawings, bill of materials, technical specifications, work instructions, standards/procedures and checklists


• Exchange product, technical and manufacturing experience with team members and provide regular updates on projects.


• Able to lead other team members to support design packages

REQUIREMENTS

• Education: B.S. Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology


• Experience in related fields (7 + years)


• Solid mechanical design experience and strong engineering fundamental skills


• Experience working in a project -oriented team


• Good working knowledge of material properties


• Experience with various manufacturing technologies


• Experience with rapid prototyping processes


• Hands-on experimental testing and analysis


• Proficient in 3D CAD software


• Advanced MS Office skills


• Ability to prioritize tasks and support multiple projects


• Must have strong organizational, presentation, project management and communication skills


• Self-starter
