Machine Operator, 2nd Shift, 3pm - 11pm

Job Function:

Operate machines, several when required, within the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Perform duties required to operate machines with in the department, operating several machines simultaneously when required.
  • Perform quality checks during production run , visually and dimensionally observing the condition of the finished parts to identify worn tooling and/or machine malfunction.
  • Able to understand and work from verbal instructions provided by senior level associates.
  • Assist higher grade operators as required.
  • Make machine adjustments to maintain size.
  • Use a hand or electric truck to move material
  • Keep work area clean and neat.
  • Be willing and able to work overtime when needed.
  • Good attendance is required to assure the efficient operation of the department.
  • Must follow all company policies and safety rules and practices.
  • Work well with others

Education and Experience:


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) desired.
  • One to three months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, shop orders, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
