The primary role of the Personal Banker is to assist customers, both new and existing, in their selection of various accounts and financial services. The Personal Banker will also be responsible for assisting all customers with servicing needs on business and personal accounts.
Duties and responsibilities • Assess and handle retail customers' banking needs and obtain and process customer/account information. • Open and service accounts and identify cross selling opportunities to new and existing customers. • Open, maintain and close of all account types. • Interview the clients to determine the appropriate product and/or service to present. • Call on potential or existing customers to develop new business by promoting our bank's services and products, with the goal of expanding relationships and bank's profitability. • Display exceptional customer service and sales skills and maintain a professional attitude. • Qualify and refer clients to appropriate areas outside assigned area in order to assist the customers to meet their financial goals. • Consult with commercial bankers to understand banking opportunities within the commercial customer base . • Assist in opening and closing the office which includes Saturday mornings on a rotating schedule. • Maintain accuracy and compliance in all account documentation. • Balance drawer daily. • Maintain appropriate logs. • Comply with all bank policies and procedures.
Qualifications • High School diploma or equivalent experience. • A minimum of 3 years work experience in a banking environment. • Working knowledge of banking regulatory requirements. • Knowledgeable about a wide variety of retail bank products and administrative support. • Strong time management skills and attention to detail. • Experience should include a demonstration of good communication skills, both written and verbal • Good understanding of Word, Excel, Outlook and Data Entry. • Ability to Multi-Task.
Preferred • Previous working experience as a teller, personal banker or universal banker. Understands when to escalate a problem or situation to management for resolution. • Continue to look for ways in which to complete tasks and duties in an efficient, cost-effective, and productive manner, without sacrificing excellent customer service.
Working conditions • Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. • Travel of up to 5% within the region
Physical requirements • General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
