The Cycle Counter Clerk is responsible for tracking inventory of various materials; finding root cause for inventory discrepancies and accurately recording inventory counts in the system. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under direct supervision.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: • Counts and tracks physical inventory • Maintains accurate records of counts and frequency of counts • Communicates any variances or inventory discrepancies to management • Records inventory counts in the accounting system • Investigates any inventory discrepancies and documents any corrections • Ensures accuracy of information in the system and compliance with internal controls • Prepares various reports and correspondence as required. • Performs other duties as required.
Job Specifications
Knowledge: • High school diploma • Minimum one year of experience in inventory control or related area. • Working knowledge of inventory internal controls, and company procedures • Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook. • Basic knowledge on lumber math, lumber grades and species. • Preferred understanding on company policies, practices and procedures. • Must be at least 18 years of age.
Skills and abilities: • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English; ability read and write English • Ability to follow written instructions and directions • Ability to identify products based on size, class, grade, species, etc. • Ability to verbalize and/or document areas of deficiency with regard to inventory control policies and procedures • Ability to collect all data relative to a problematic situation and know specifically what needs to be done to correct it • Ability to plan, and organize the work, determine priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure and stress. • Ability to use basic and lumber math • Abiltiy to use a computer, calculator, and telephone. • Ability to multitask and pay attention to detail • Ability to work under immediate supervision • Ability to pass a drug test • Ability to work hours mandated by management
