Reports to the Fitness Promotions Manager. Under the guidance of the Group Exercise Coordinator, is responsible for conducting quality group exercise classes.

Education and Experience
The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a high school diploma or equivalent. Certification through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) as a Group Exercise Instructor is required. Additional certification with the American Council on Exercise (ACE), or American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), or Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA), or United States Water Fitness Association (USWFA) or similar approved certification/training is required to teach specific aerobics classes.
Knowledge & Skills
Requires the technical knowledge and application of basic exercise physiology and anatomy to adults and children if applicable.
Requires knowledge of aerobic exercises for clients.
Demonstrates the leadership, interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to interact effectively with a diverse group of clients, staff, members and facility users in a professional, courteous, friendly and sincere manner.
Requires CPR certification or arrangements to be certified within the first three months of employment as an aerobics instructor.
Works in an athletic club environment.
May be exposed to frequent interruptions, the potential of increased noise levels and some discomfort due to cool or warm temperatures.
Requires the ability to work flexible hours.
Requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position.
