Job Summary
Our recently expanded Architectural Metals Service Center in Elk Grove Village that services the entire Midwest continues to experience tremendous growth and has an immediate, full-time, first shift opening to be part of an award-winning team in our fabrication operations. You will work with a group of experienced team members responsible for fabricating and assembling architectural aluminum doors/frames, aluminum storefront frames and curtainwall.
Note: Persons with experience in layout or manufacturing assembly are strongly encouraged to apply.

Job Summary
In this role you will be responsible for a variety of operations including but not limited to:
Accurately pull all materials required to complete order
Prep parts for assembly utilizing hand tools, punch presses and mills
Basic welding to secure door components
Installation of standard and custom hardware
Package material in preparation for pick-up or shipment
Participate in completing a monthly full physical inventory
A variety of other actions deemed necessary to support production
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Read and interpret technical documents and instructions
Handling, packaging and labeling of architectural doors and frames
Pulling, sorting and stocking of material
Utilize PC workstation to deduct material from inventory
Assisting with monthly inventory counts
Maintain clean and organized work area
Assist staff with questions and problems on production
Regular and predictable attendance
Ability to safely perform tasks and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job
Requirements
To be considered for this position, the following conditions must be met:
Strong organizational skills
Ability to handle several tasks at once
Ability to safely operate machinery necessary for the movement of material through the warehouse
Ability to work independently and prioritize work and deliveries
Good verbal and written communications skills and math aptitude
Available to work 1st shift and overtime on a consistent basis including Saturdays as dictated by the production schedule
Physical Requirements
Ability to wear steel-toed boots with metatarsal guards for a maximum of 12 hours on concrete floors
Ability to lift 75 pounds multiple times throughout the work shift
Ability to squat, bend, twist and turn multiple times through the work shift
Ability to load, unload, push and pull metal extrusions throughout the work shift
Ability to look downward through the work shift
Wear approved steel toed boots with metatarsal guards up to 12 hours on concrete floors
Work Environment
The warehouse is subject to the same general climate conditions of the region (Heat, Cold, humidity, etc.). Chemicals, Dust, pollen and other typical airborne particulate matter are present within the atmosphere of the shop floor and may create some odors in the warehouse. Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope in an effort to provide its employees with a safe and healthy working environment limits exposure to chemicals through written procedures, engineering controls and PPE. While some chemical may pose health risks if not properly used employees are trained on the proper safety equipment and procedures for handling chemicals. While the chemical exposure and odors are under acceptable levels set by OSHA and the WCB, they nevertheless, can be smelled and are handled according to the company's hazardous communication program.
