Job Summary:

The Applications and Enforcement Department is interviewing for a full-time examiner position. The role will focus on applications-related assignments (further described in the "Key Activities" section), but may also involve activities/responsibilities related to the ongoing supervision of problem banking organizations in less-than-satisfactory financial condition and under formal supervisory actions.

Key Activities:

•Some of the primary responsibilities associated with this position include:
•Conducting thorough, technical analyses of quantitative and qualitative factors using multiple sources and tools to evaluate financial risks and corresponding risk management practices of district banking organizations proposing to engage in various, primarily financial-based, transactions;
•Applying sound supervisory judgment and considering viewpoints from several disciplines to analyze subjective, technical, and/or financial matters to reach well-supported conclusions regarding merger, acquisition, and financial activities of bank holding companies, savings and loan holding companies, and state member banks;
•Understanding and evaluating financial, managerial, and competitive/anti-trust factors, and collaborating with subject matter experts across various business functions to incorporate safety and soundness, consumer compliance/CRA, and legal/policy factors into comprehensive analyses;
•Preparing written reports/summaries that effectively articulate analyses and corresponding conclusions regarding complex regulatory matters that are financial, technical, and/or delicate in nature.
•Fostering strong and collaborative relationships with representatives from federal and state regulatory agencies and the Board of Governors to build consensus and ensure a consistent approach in the application of supervisory, legal, and/or other interpretative matters.
•Serving as a liaison with external constituents, including community and regional bankers, consultants, and law firms, on matters related to pending or ongoing applications, such as interpreting and providing guidance, procuring additional information, and representing the Bank's position regarding banking laws, regulations, and related requirements.Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree with emphasis in business, accounting, finance, or economics, or equivalent work experience.
•Two to five years of banking/industry experience; three years of regulatory experience desired.
•Demonstrates proficiency in utilizing and analyzing data contained in the core automation and work process tools utilized by the
•Division and the SystemAility to obtain examiner credentails.
•Position may require limited travel of up to 10 percent.

Preferred Qualifications:

•Demonstrates proficiency in the Bank's defined core skills and elements of the Bank's leadership competencies, as necessary to perform routine-to- moderately complex supervisory activities, manage projects, and/or serve on committees.
•Demonstrates well-developed technical knowledge in a subset of supervisory disciplines or broad application of technical knowledge across various supervisory disciplines.
•Demonstrates balanced judgment, well-reasoned decision making, and ability to articulate complex technical matters to a variety of audiences.
•Demonstrates ability to make strategic decisions and balance the (potentially competing) interests of several stakeholders.
•Possesses experience and skill in independently managing multiple projects under changing priorities and within established deadlines.
•Exhibits strong leadership, written and verbal communication, and customer service skills, and enjoys working in, and contributing to, a team environment.
•Possesses knowledge equivalent to three years in Examiner Commissioning Program, or preferably has obtained an examiner commission from a Federal Banking Agency.
