Currency Processor (Hourly) - San Francisco
Hourly rate: $20 to $22 per hour depending upon experience + 15%!!
Note: Hourly employees are part-time and temporary. On average hourly employees work 16 to 38 hours per week. However, additional hours may be available.
The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco, San Francisco branch, is seeking a dynamic, versatile individual to work as a Currency Processor in a high volume, production-oriented environment. The Currency Processor position operates the Banknote Processing System (BPS) 3000 machine (currency processor and reconciliation station), which counts and verifies currency deposits from depository institutions; identifies counterfeits; balances daily transactions while maintaining an accurate audit trail; and works in a team environment with production targets and quality standards. Additional responsibilities include currency paying and receiving, coin functions and other ad-hoc assignments or projects.
Job Responsibilities:
Display strong collaboration and interpersonal skills while working in a high volume, production and quality driven, team environment
Operate complex currency high speed processing equipment while meeting individual production standards
Adhere to and understand applicable controls, procedures and data security requirements as established by the United States Treasury, the Board of Governors, Federal Reserve System, District and local department operating manuals
Demonstrate data-entry accuracy and adherence to procedures in the use of all automated systems
Exhibit ability to accurately perform multiple tasks simultaneously
Display excellent manual dexterity in preparing currency and equipment, and in operating all equipment
Consistently complete all documentation in an accurate, neat, timely and orderly manner
Successfully reconcile and balance currency holdings at the end of each shift in an automated system
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with team members and supervisory personnel
Take initiative to research and resolve routine problems and out-of-balance situations
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Demonstrates competence in basic math and accounting skills
Data entry and computer operating experience
Calculator and adding machine skills
Accurate preparation of documentation
Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively
Ability to work well with others in a team setting
Demonstrates self-awareness
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Manual dexterity in preparing and operating machinery
Lift up to 50 pounds
Stand for extended lengths of time
