Location: UCMC

Department: Centralized Float Pool

Hours: Full-time 36 hours

Shift: 12 hour PM

Primary Purpose: The Clinical Nurse I (CN I -registered nurse) promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate culturally based and age specific patient care.

The RN incorporates the principles of the ANCC Synergy Model for patient care to drive nursing practice, resulting in optimum outcomes for the patient.

Knowledge and Skills

Education: Associate degree, minimum required. Bachelor degree is preferred. Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.

License and Certification: Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio. Current BLS/ACLS certifications required dependent on area of expertise( Med-Surg-Tele, or Critical care).

Years of Experience: Two years equivalent experience in area of expertise (Med-Surg-Tele or Critical Care), minimum required.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Nursing experience relevant to specific clinical care area of expertise and patient population required
• Completes mandatory annual educations and departmental competency requirements as outlined in Centralized Float Pool Guidelines* (*provided upon request)
