EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, finance, enterprise risk management, or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of data analytics or risk reporting experience in a large financial institution.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


  • Proficient with software visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) and computer programming skills (e.g., Python, SQL).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel chart tools.
  • Knowledge of cube paradigms.
  • Strong communication skills to leverage data residing in various business units across the firm.
  • Ability to meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

The MRM Risk Reporting Analyst, reporting to the VP MRM Validation Analyst, Senior, is responsible for developing a suite of repeatable and largely automated risk metrics and trends against established thresholds and peers for use by the Enterprise Risk Management function within the firm for internal monitoring and reporting purposes. Involves leveraging leadership within the Office of the CRO to understand NYCB's business model and unique vulnerabilities, for use in designing optimal data visualization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


  • Develop a suite of repeatable and largely automated risk metrics and exposure trends set against established limits and warning thresholds, and against peers for use in the CRO's monthly presentations.
  • Leverage internal and external data (e.g., macroeconomic data), and risk reporting performed by various first line risk management teams, as well as our development of metrics, in order to produce a set of reports that provide a holistic, enterprise-wide view of key risks.
  • Prepare "chart packs" organized around risk themes, e.g., Credit risk, Market risk, with graphs and charts of risk metrics and key takeaways for presentation to the Enterprise Risk Management Committee ("ERMC") and the Risk Assessment Committee ("RAC") of the Board in order to improve the committee members' ability to review and monitor longer term trends in our Key Risk Indicators ("KRIs") and other important risk measures.
  • Develop an automated risk dashboard for the Office of the CRO and senior management across the firm to monitor longer term trends in KRIs and other important risk measures.
