Job Description:

Training Manager

Job Description
Since the doors opened in 1972, this factory has grown dramatically into a sustainable state-of-the-art facility. In 2013, we completed our largest solar project yet by installing a 450-kilowatt photovoltaic system of nearly 1,900 panels. The amount of energy produced annually by this solar array could power nearly 52 average-sized homes, or approximately 5,000 lights bulbs for an entire year. With sustainability and safety always top of mind, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo®, Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Fit & Trim®, Friskies®, Nestlé Purina ONE® and Pro Plan®. This plant location is just along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta - an area that nearly 5 million residents and over 340 of our associates can call home. Atlanta is considered the major commercial and financial center of the Southeast and, if this beautiful city were a country, it would be the 28th largest economy in the world.

As a Training Manager, you will be an engaged member of our factory leadership team. The Training Manager is responsible for strategically implementing and improving training programs throughout the entire facility. This includes safety, quality, maintenance, job instructional, professional development and continuous improvement training based on adult learning and TPM (Total Performance Management) methodologies. This will include constantly working with all departments to identify needs for training and improvement of current training to ensure that all employees are proficient in all aspects of their job and responsibilities. Our people are our most important asset and - true to our culture - we believe investing in our talent is the most worthwhile investment in our shared future together.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for driving training efforts to include needs assessment, conferring with Management to gain understanding of specific situations requiring employee or group improvement, developing a training plan, and implementation of plan with specific timelines.
  • Leads the Education and Training Pillar for the factory and can coach and train others on all related systems.
  • Designs training for new plant initiatives and job responsibilities.
  • Selects or develops teaching aids to aid employee learning and retention of material, using various learning techniques. Selects or develops testing and evaluation procedures used at completion of training.
  • Identifies key personnel in plant and conducts Train-the-Trainer classes, and delivers materials to the hourly and salaried workforce.
  • Works with HR Manager and other department managers to plan and forecast training needs in conjunction with factory training budget.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a Business, Human Resources, or related field.

  • Experience:

    • 1+ years of manufacturing experience in a production, industrial, or military environment required.
    • 2+ Years of experience in a training capacity within a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment required.

It is our business imperative to remain a very inclusive workplace.

To our veterans and separated service members, you're at the forefront of our minds as we recruit top talent to join Nestlé Purina. The skills you've gained while serving our country, such as flexibility, agility, and leadership, are much like the skills that will make you successful in this role. We hope you'll consider sharing in our mission--you'll join a cohort of others who have chosen to call Nestlé Purina home.

The Nestlé Companies are equal employment and affirmative action employers and look for diversity in qualified candidates for employment.

Prior to the next step in the recruiting process, we welcome you to inform us confidentially if you may require any special accommodations in order to participate fully in our recruitment experience.
