Title: Module Leader- 71147

Your Responsibilities

As a Module Leader for John Deere Ottumwa Works located in Ottumwa, Iowa you will supervise production employees to ensure the safety of everyone and deliver high quality products on time to our customers. Your key responsibility will be achieving departmental goals and objectives in terms of safety, quality, delivery, efficiency and employee engagement. In addition you will:


  • Provide daily leadership and work direction to production employees
  • Meet all critical business metrics, including safety, quality, delivery and productivity
  • Lead CI200 efforts to achieve all Continuous Improvement targets for responsible departments and engage with the Operations teams to develop and execute action plans to close gaps
  • Establish and maintain accountability for all applicable work rules, policies and procedures within department including the administration of wage employee discipline when required
  • Create and implement workforce plans across all shifts to meet production requirements
  • Managing staffing including absenteeism, training, and performance improvements
  • Provide safety, environmental, and ergonomic leadership to direct reports to ensure that they work safely and all work they complete complies with safety, environmental and ergonomic standards and regulations
  • Manage daily quality issues by creating and implementing timely short term and long term corrective actions
  • Be available to work daily overtime, off-shift hours and weekend overtime

What Skills You Need


  • 3 or more years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Weld and Assembly operations
  • Skilled in interpersonal communications, negotiation and conflict resolution
  • Experience leading teams
  • SAP and Microsoft office skills
  • Ability and willingness to work daily overtime, off-shift hours and weekend overtime

What Makes You Stand Out


  • Experience supervising wage employees in a production setting
  • Demonstrated experience leading or directly supporting a multi-shift, serial production weld and assembly line
  • Experience with union employee policies, practices, procedures and work rules
  • Strong background maintaining accountability and administering discipline
  • Working knowledge of the Continuous Improvement (CI) process
  • Experience implementing new product programs and manufacturing process into production
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement Pay Plan (CIPP) pay administration

Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or other related field or equivalent experience
