Operations Finance Accountant at Big Ass Fans in Lexington, Kentucky

Job Description:

The Big Ass Family is growing!  The Operations Finance Accountant role will report to the Operations Finance Manager of Big Ass Fans and be responsible for most things finance-related in our manufacturing operations.  Do you have a strange attraction to standard costing? Responsibilities:

• Measurement of operational performance of our manufacturing operations, with variance analysis performed on a daily basis and ad hoc throughout the month; deep dive into the drivers of variances in gross margin across the business to help improve performance


• Forecast the operational performance of the business, including capitalized variances, to improve the predictability of our financial results


• Daily maintenance of new parts entering the system


• Be responsible for developing standard costs for the group and rolling them properly and accurately


• Assist with the inventory count process


• Assist with compliance of operations finance related reserve policies (e.g. slow-moving, obsolete, etc)


• Work with the operations teams to connect the operational and financial performance of the business


• Track cost savings activities across the business and understand how those should be manifesting themselves in the business results; help the group identify additional savings


• Know and understand cost relationships and how they affect the P&L


• Drive deep insight into the costs of the business to help create product line P&Ls


• Help drive the capital expenditure process


• Perform ad hoc analysis for the senior leadership of the business, including the CFO and CEO


• Assist with monthly close as needed, including reconciling inventory accounts

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree, Accounting


• 2-5 years of previous experience, manufacturing environment experience preferred


• Superior, hands-on modeling skills and adeptness with Excel – you need to be a doer and not a delegator


• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail – you maintain your task list tightly and rarely miss deadlines


• High band-width being able to manage multiple stake-holders at once


• Strong work ethic – we work hard, and play hard – but expect the same from those who join the team
