The HR Generalist , under general supervision, is responsible for all facets of human resources for assigned corporate function, operating division or plant. The role's duties include recruiting, policy interpretation, reporting of information, employee relations, benefits administration, hourly pay administration and timekeeping. Coordinate, as requested, with plant management to administer salary for the salaried population at the plant. Coordinates a variety of Human Resource programs and provides professional level work of a more complex nature and assistance to such programs.
HR Generalist Support: Provides Human Resource generalist support in areas such as hourly pay administration, staffing, employee relations, training/development, and other related areas. Monitor and provide necessary training and coaching to managers and supervisors on leading a union-free environment. Complete day-to-day administration of human resource programs including completing all the necessary paperwork to enroll, terminate and modify employee records.
Timekeeping / Payroll Processing: Complete time keeping for payroll processing. Print and audit reports as necessary. Ensure all time cards are properly completed and authorization, report any violations or issues to Plant management. Kronos experience.
Staffing: Administer internal job posting process to ensure timely posting of open positions. Reviews all internal applications and works with hiring supervisor to ensure proper placement of internal candidates. Source qualified candidates through newspaper advertising, approved recruiters, and other recruiting sources. Coordinates advertising needs. Interviews and assists in the selection of qualified candidates to fill approved positions. Coach supervisors on candidate interviewing and selection. Analyzes job requirements making recommendation of final selection. Coordinate employment offer processes and all pre-employment steps - references, background check, and drug screen - in preparation for completing the hiring process. Follow through on all resumes and applications received for advertised positions to ensure that proper correspondence is sent to applicants. Maintains applicant database. Performs new employee orientation to foster positive outlook toward plant and company goals.
Employee Record Processing: Conducts exit interviews for terminating Company employees. Prepares and processes Exit Interview form and notifies appropriate personnel of terminations. Compiles and analyzes all gathered information for the purposes of recommending changes to policies and procedures. Provides appropriate separation information to terminated employees, including final payment of earnings, collection of all company property, etc. Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation. Complete for transaction all employee changes that represent a change in status among which include promotions, transfers, separations, approved leaves, etc. Enter into Human Resource Information System (Workday) all required data and maintain as necessary.
Employee Relations: Coordinate employee relations issues with plant management to affect prompt and appropriate resolution. Interprets Company policy for supervisors and employees. Assists and provides input toward the development of policies and procedures. Coordinates the collection and preparation of routine and special human resource reports. Provides assistance to employees and supervisors in solving work-related problems. Evaluates the issue and meets with supervisors to determine effective remediation techniques, such as job skills training or personal intervention, to resolve human relations issues. Handle internal investigations regarding issues of unfair employment and discrimination complaints.
Compliance: Routinely audit employment law postings for accuracy and adherence to established guidelines and applicable federal and state laws. Conducts investigations as assigned. Monitors and maintains EEOC/Affirmative Action Plan and other legal records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations. Conduct periodic audits and report audit findings and make recommendations for correction of unsatisfactory conditions, or improvements related to compliance. Coordinates site's EEO/Affirmative Action maintains necessary records and reports. Completes annual reports (EEO-1, Vets 100, etc.)
Internal Communications: Act as the on-site communications conduit for all corporate internal communications. Print and post all required communications, posters, etc., and facilitate the distribution with paychecks any special all employee fliers
Education:
Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
Experience:
4+ years progressive work related experience with demonstrated proficiency in the discipline/technology/process related to the position including experience as a team member on project teams in a cross functional environment. Kronos and Workday experience a plus.
