Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS)is a non-profit community health system on a mission of improving the health of our community in all we do. Functions as a team member in the day-to-day operations of the lab. Performs and thoroughly understands 2-D, M-mode, color flow mapping and cardiac Doppler echocardiography in the adult and/or pediatric. Must have a good knowledge of cardiac anatomy and pathophysiology. Must be able to assist cardiologist in transesophageal echo and performing stress echo procedures. Responsible for procedure charging. Will be responsible for maintaining PI documentation in cardiac ultrasound. Responsible for all cardiac ultrasound procedures and related computer/paperwork. Required to take call in order to contribute to the coverage of Emergent Echo procedures that occur during off-hours. The number of call shifts required per week will be determined by the lead tech and/or manager and will be based on department needs. This position will care for patients in the neonatal, infant, child, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups. Employee performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy and procedures
Certificate in Medical Sonography-Cardiac Specific (RDCS or RCS) required
1 yr clinical experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on adult ech. Pedi experience is desirable
