Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS)is a non-profit community health system on a mission of improving the health of our community in all we do. Our team cares for more than 1 million people across the region through four hospitals and a variety of outpatient locations. The Network Engineer II serves the organization, patients, and other customers by providing a wide range of computer related technical services. As a member of the Technical Services Team, the job is responsible for architecture and the management of critical clinical infrastructure in a wired/wireless environment. Provide infrastructure engineering services including: F5 and Citrix load balancing, Windows/Linux/AIX operating systems; application, system and network security; and Tier 3 data center operations. Conducts research on emerging technologies and recommends technologies that increase infrastructure flexibility and resiliency. Manages and maintains QoS to enable Avaya VoIP and Polycom Video across wired and wireless infrastructure. Knowledge managing/maintaining troubleshooting Juniper and Aruba network equipment including switching/routing, RF engineering, LAN/WAN/MAN management and design. Strong knowledge of the OSI model to troubleshoot issues from physical to application layer. Disaster recovery planning and testing for highly available infrastructure. Project management experience and mentoring staff to achieve desired outcomes in support of a 24x7 critical patient care environment.
Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalency required, 4-year degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
5-9 years experience supporting critical infrastructure in a highly available 24x7 environment.
