Work with Quality management or Program Management to plan and prioritize projects that are in accordance with the objectives and strategic plans of the company.
Lead activity to ensure the Process Flow Diagram (PFD) and PFMEA define the process and manage / reduce risk prior to product launch.
Assist with new product launches, work with Operations, provide training and create / update Control Plans to assure customer expectations for quality, performance and delivery. May require the design of quality gages and fixtures.
Responsible for Product / Process change management control. Insuring change risk is managed and when applicable, customer approval is secured.
Respond to customer inquiries in a prompt, courteous and professional manner. I
Issue RMAs and launch problem-solving activity. Submit problem-solving status into customer portals as required. Lead a team to determine root cause. Define, document and implement effective corrective actions to assure customer satisfaction.
Prepare dimensional layout and compile relevant documentation for PPAP submission. Submit PPAPs into customer portals when required.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve product reliability, process consistency and quality metrics for all IMMI products.
Provide reliable technical engineering expertise to Quality Auditors and Operations personnel as needed.
Maintain a high level of knowledge and understanding of relevant customer and regulatory standards.
Understand and control design features and critical characteristics that impact product performance.
Lend engineering expertise to the Material Review Board. When needed, provide appropriate resource direction to evaluate non-conforming product for use.
Monitor performance against all relevant Control Plans.

Qualifications
Education
Associate Degree + 6 years' experience or Bachelor of Science in Engineering + 3 years' experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong problem-solving skills are essential to this position. Experience with six sigma, Fishbone, 5 Why, error-proofing or equivalent problem-solving techniques preferred.
Knowledge of AIAG Core Tools
Be able to read product drawings with knowledge of GD&T
Knowledge of ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 or similar Quality Management Audit standards.
Proven skill at managing multiple projects with the ability to complete tasks on time.
Must have excellent communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
Experience with metal stamping, metal forming and coatings.
Travel as the need arises for training, seminars, and customer visits both inside and outside the country.
Working knowledge of Oracle, Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), Minitab are essential for the Quality Engineer.
