Job Description

The Supply Chain and Logistics Analyst will be based in Manchester, CT.  The Supply Chain and Logistic analyst will be responsible for driving continuous improvement to Flex Manchester’s Supply Chain and Logistics Team.  Key to your success in this role will be your ability to be proactive in finding solutions to both internal and external customer problems and obstacles - through problem solving, process improvement and finding opportunities to bring consistency and improvement to internal and external customer processes.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:

• Interface with customers and suppliers in new project start up


• Manage material cost review


• Monitor and manage supplier lead times


• Mitigate Shortages, excess on order and excess on hand


• Drive sourcing/pricing strategies in materials quotations


• Track materials financial performance and issue corrective actions when required


• Increase Vendor Managed inventory and reduce lead time


• Recommend improvements to existing or planned logistics processes


• Interpret data on logistics elements, such as availability, maintainability, reliability, supply chain management, strategic sourcing or distribution, supplier management, or transportation


• Prepare reports on logistics performance measures


• Write or revise standard operating procedures for logistics processes


• Develop or maintain models for logistics uses, such as cost estimating or demand forecasting


• Track product flow from origin to final delivery


• Monitor industry standards, trends, or practices to identify developments in logistics planning or execution


• Review procedures, such as distribution or inventory management, to ensure maximum efficiency or minimum cost


• Monitor inventory transactions at warehouse facilities to assess receiving, storage, shipping, or inventory integrity


• Communicate with or monitor service providers, such as ocean carriers, air freight forwarders, global consolidators, custom brokers, or trucking companies


• Responsible for creating reports using a variety of tools and methods


• Will be required to document procedures and create work instructions for other users

Here is some of what you’ll need (required):

• Minimum of 3 years experience in similar role


• Exceptional communication skills


• Ability to work within a team and be self motivated


• Detail Oriented and excellent organization skills


• Microsoft Office especially Excel – Expert Level


• Strong understanding of ERP systems and functions


• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
