Purpose:

~ Implement & manage Special Service Tool program to help improve customer experience & dealer profitability.

~ Oversee supplier selection and relationship management for Special Service Tool program in Service Program & Analysis group

 

Major Responsibility:

~ Program Management

~ Manage Special Service Tool program to improve the customer experience and dealer performance Program Management Tasks include:

~ Oversee supplier selection and relationship management, including RFP and Scope of Service development. Review and approve deliverables.

~ Ensure Hyundai needs and expectations are met, including performing supplier benchmarking, selection, interaction, & program management.  Monitor supplier quality and ability to meet deadlines.

~ Maintain supplier agreements, change orders, purchase requests, purchase orders, and invoices. Facilitate processing and approvals with internal departments.

~ Document and maintain department processes for above programs (e.g., dataflow to/from suppliers, report procedures, program approvals). Identify issues and improvement opportunities.

~ Operations

~ Work with HMC, Engineering, Special Projects, and various vendors to create and/or procure tools and equipment that enable dealers to diagnose and service customer vehicles.

~ Address questions or inquiries about above programs from National and Regional management, dealers, and customers. Resolve issues and help motivate dealer behavior to achieve desired HMA objectives

~ Support launch of new vehicles by reviewing owner’s manual when available to identify any program changes or new tool requirements.  Validate, test and research potential tools for necessity and inclusion in the Special Service Tool program

~ Assist with projects for tool distribution and acquisition of Special Service Tools for program disbursement

~ Compare alternative tools and decide the best option for dealers based on efficiency, pricing etc.

~ Continuously review and ensure that the tools in the Hyundai Dealer Mandatory Tool Program remain relevant and effective

Assist with dealer tool repurchases and documentation of repurchases

~ Meet with other departments as required for communication of tool launches

~ Reporting

~ Compile, update and distribute regular reports (daily, weekly, monthly) for HMA corporate and regional management.

~ Manage, coordinate, publish and update department publications as assigned, including updating application guides and catalogs. Work with internal owners of various documents and projects to maintain accuracy of printed and on-line publications. Assure all applicable programs and materials are accessible through Hyundai website.

~ Planning & Analysis

~ Integrate raw data into PowerPoint charts and slides that can be used by management for presentations and performance measurement.

~ Analyze and report research data, identify trends and implications, and make recommendations to management regarding improvement opportunities.

~ Analyze and report program progress and results.  Provide scheduled and ad hoc reports and analysis and utilize insights to enhance current and future programs.

~ Purchasing, Billing & Budget

~ Manage relationship with HMA Purchasing Department to ensure all department purchasing issues are resolved in a timely manner

~ Maintain budget, including annual development, monthly accruals, ongoing monitoring and reconciliation.

~ Assist with initiation and amendment of purchase orders in compliance with Special Service Tool program

~ Ensure that billing for dealers and vendors is processed within accordance to company standards. Billing for dealer network to be released through AS400/SAP

 

Authority:

~ Oversee performance of suppliers and internal support departments. Includes developing scope, monitoring quality, and ensuring delivery of goods/services. Also includes review of and recommendations for supplier agreements, purchase requests, budget, and invoices.

~ Final editorial control over process documents that are channeled through the Field Operations or Dealer Training groups to be deployed to the regions and dealers.

~ Distribute high level reports that assist executive management in making key business decisions.

~ Authority to travel to Tool Trade Shows (SEMA, etc.) and Dealer visits to test production model software and tools as needed.

 

Education:

~ Must be a high school graduate.

~ Bachelor’s degree preferred.

 

Related Experience:

~ Five to six years of automotive industry work experience of which at least three years are directly related experience in automotive parts or service.

~ Experience in fast paced OEM environment

~ Program management and vendor relations experience required.

~ Full understanding of Special Service Tools and impact to dealers & technicians

~ Experience with Special Service Tools and vehicle application

~ Ability to coordinate with several internal and external stakeholders of technical and business nature

 

Skill/Knowledge:

~ Excellent verbal and written communications skills to allow effective interaction with all levels of the organization.

~ Ability to work independently, under pressure of deadlines, handle multiple priorities and pay close attention to detail.

~ High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Publisher, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

~ Ability to thrive in a team environment. 

~ Analytical skills, well versed in root cause analysis and issue resolution

~ Understanding of automotive industry; existing vehicle and service capabilities; and new trends in regards to Special Service Tool serviceability

 

Certification required:

~ Associate’s Degree in Automotive Repair or equivalent work experience preferred

~ Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Master Technician status preferred

~ Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Advanced Engine Performance (L1) preferred

~ Current CA Driver’s License and acceptable driving record per Hyundai Vehicle Administration standards
