The Content Creator Contractor is responsible for writing, reviewing, editing, and updating content for company websites, blogs, marketing materials, and similar platforms. The Content Creator will work closely with Content Strategists, who will assign specific content projects to be researched and written. The Content Creator will monitor, report on, and analyze content performance, and make adjustments as needed. This is a full-time contractor position.

• Writing, reviewing, editing, and updating content for company websites, blogs, marketing materials, and similar platforms.


• Conducting research and interviews to learn more about current trends, product developments, and perceptions about the subject matter, and then contextualizing your findings.


• Assisting the creative team with the design of promotional materials.


• Using social media to engage consumers, respond to questions or complaints, and to promote company initiatives.


• Collaborating with internal departments to establish campaign objectives, complete tasks, and identify and solve problems.


• Monitoring social media and company website metrics and translating that data into action items.


• Utilizing SEO methods to increase site traffic, as well as identifying and incorporating UGX considerations.


• Suggesting new ways to promote company offerings and to reach consumers.


• Multitasking, most especially in terms of Project Management. This includes a keen attention to detail, editing, providing specific and well-organized feedback, and being responsible for keeping projects/stakeholders moving forward.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• 
   This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Required Qualifications:   

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, or a similar field AND


• 3 years experience in developing written content OR


• Equivalent combination of education and experience


• Experience creating strong, engaging content.


• Demonstrated excellence in writing, proofreading, and editing.


• Excellent research, organizational, and time management skills.


• Strong listening and communication skills.


• The capacity to work independently and collaboratively.


• Ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy.

Certificates and Licenses: None required.

Other Required Qualifications: 

• Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.


• Ability to clear required background check

Desired Qualifications: 

• A portfolio of applicable outputs.


• An understanding of SEO best practices.
