The Impact You Will Make in this Role
We are looking for a talented, highly motivated and technically excellent full time Software Engineer to join our industry leading medical coding platform, 360 Encompass. This individual will work on both US and International versions of 360 Encompass. 360 Encompass is built on modern web technologies. This position requires candidates who can learn quickly, can work in different areas of the development stack, and who are comfortable with communicating and coordinating across different teams, customers and product specialists.

As a Sr. Software Engineer you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Be an active member of a scrum team by participating in all phases of SDLC, including design, software development, automation testing, and code reviews.


• Develop software components based on requirements, architecture and design specifications


• Work with fellow software engineers and other team members to design and build required systems.


• Coordinate and communicate with clinical specialists, NLP researchers, and product analysts.


• Adhere to team design and coding procedures and standards.


• Help resolve escalated customer support issues.


• Interact with customers to resolve operational problems and determine customer requirements.


• Participating in relevant corporate programs/initiatives


• Ensuring professional, quality and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties


• Complying with corporate policies and procedures while acting in a manner consistent with 3M’s values and ethical standards

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university OR High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution and a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in software development in lieu of the bachelor’s degree education requirement


• Five (5) years of professional experience in Software Engineering


• Good understanding of Object-Oriented concepts and design patterns


• Two (2) years of development experience developing one or more of the following programming languages: C++, Java, and/or C#


• Experience in at least one modern relational database platforms

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience with JavaScript and related libraries and frameworks


• Experience with Angular2 development


• Experience with web service development


• Good communication skills


• Have experience developing health-care related software

Location: Murray, UT
