This position develops, with senior engineers, the electrical designs for various aircraft systems. Generate electrical schematics and drawings for components and systems for our existing prototypes and new designs. Lead standardization of electrical components, circuitry, and develop documentation. Additional responsibilities may include connector assembly and wire harness production.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Keeping immediate team members up to date on all projects, with regards to project status, completion time, and any problems that may have arisen during the course of the project
Conducting tests of products and components in accordance with test criteria established by policies and procedures and/or written test plans; maintaining accurate records of test results; reporting results to team members
Preparing prototypes of components assemblies and systems of either new or current product
Conducting various comparison tests of products and components in accordance with test criteria established by policies and procedures and/or written test plans; maintaining accurate records of test results; reporting results to team members
Operating required machinery and equipment in a safe manner following established safety rules, maintaining a neat and clean work area, following established tool and instrument control procedures, and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to team members
Building test fixtures to carry out various needs associated with testing the components in a manner that will be accelerated in terms of time and that will correlate with actual field usage conditions
Performing other related duties as required
Requirements:
BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university preferred
Relevant work experience; could be on an internship or co-op basis
General knowledge of electrical practices and principles
Knowledge of testing processes, equipment such as a dynamometer, sound meters, strip chart recorders, multimeters, oscilloscope, and fatigue analysis equipment and test techniques related to electrical systems
Must possess demonstrated ability to assemble electrical components operate including soldering and crimping techniques
Must possess the ability to communicate both orally and in writing
Google G-suite or MS Office, DO-160/Mil-Std-704F, FAA certified design methods, UAV control and propulsion, radio communications, aircraft avionics, electrical EMI shielding and packaging
