Electrical Engineering Technician at Beta Technologies in SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vermont

Job Description:

The Electrical Engineering Technician conducts, as directed, test and data collection activities of industrial/utility vehicles, related equipment, and component systems. Fabricates prototype components and test fixtures for lab and field testing. Performs installation and repairs of test equipment and components when necessary.

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:


    • Keeping immediate team members up to date on all projects, with regards to project status, completion time, and any problems that may have arisen during the course of the project

    • Conducting tests of new components, assemblies, and systems based on test criteria as established by policies and procedures and/or written test plans; maintaining accurate records of test results; reporting results to appropriate team members

    • Operating required machinery and equipment in a safe manner following established safety rules, maintaining a neat and clean work area, following established tool and instrument control procedures, and reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to team members

    • Building test fixtures to carry out various needs associated with testing the components in a manner that will be accelerated in terms of time and that will correlate with actual field usage conditions

    • Performing other related duties as required

Requirements


    • Associates degree or Two Year Technical Degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology or the equivalent combination of education and experience

    • Knowledge of electrical engineering practices and principles

    • Experience in testing processes, equipment such as a dynamometer, sound meters, strip chart recorders, multimeters, oscilloscope, and fatigue analysis equipment and test techniques related to vehicular electrical systems

    • Must possess demonstrated ability to operate shop equipment including welder, drill press, lathe, mill, press brake, shear, and band saws

    • Must possess the ability to communicate both orally and in writing

    • Google G-suite or MS Office, DO-160/Mil-Std-704F, FAA certified design methods, UAV control and propulsion, radio communications, aircraft avionics, electrical EMI shielding and packaging
