Job Description:

We are currently looking to fill an underwriter position in the Financial Institutions group located in Los Angeles. This team handles D&O, E&O, Fiduciary, EPL and bonds for Asset Management Firms, Insurance Companies, Banks and other Financial Institutions of all sizes.  The current Financial Institutions team has a total of eight underwriters servicing the Pacific and Southwest regions of the country. 

Major duties & responsibilities:

• Solicits new and renewal submissions from brokers


• Determines terms and conditions and complex rating plans


• Binds coverage


• Documents the underwriting files


• Handles more complex files and portfolios within underwriting authority

Minimum requirements:

• 2+ years underwriting experience


• Experience underwriting multiple lines of insurance


• Bachelor’s degree

Desired qualifications:

• Knowledge of insurance industry


• Knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, and procedures


• Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook


• Oral and written communication skills


• Negotiation skills


• Marketing skills


• Basic leadership skills
