Goodwill of Colorado has an exciting opportunity for the right individual(s) to support our Continuous Improvement team with our organization-wide Continuous Improvement (CI) initiative.  As a recently merged organization, our Retail, Donation and Warehousing Divisions are a vital part of our ability to provide mission services throughout the State of Colorado.  In this role, you will be a part of an integral team and will assist in facilitating events, conducting studies, and auditing actual process performance.  This role works effectively with varied groups of people including individuals with disabilities and disadvantages, management and employees at all levels. 

 

This job is eligible for Paid Sick and Safe Time (PSST) under the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act.

 QUALIFICATIONS: 


  • Bachelor degree in related discipline with at least 2-3 years recent continuous improvement/process engineering in a lean organization preferred.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Lean Practitioner certification required.

  • Ability to follow established procedures without immediate supervision for various operations

  • Ability to plan & work around schedules and deadlines

  • Ability to perform recorded keeping, data collection activities and to analyze recorded information

  • Good people skills with the ability to listen and lead teams

  • Ability to teach and conduct Lean Training

  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills required.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills a must.

  • Ability to lead cross functional teams to implement cost saving programs.

  • Must be a self-starter with working knowledge of computer applications, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint and Visio.

  • Excellent communication and meeting facilitation skills.

  • Must have reliable transportation. This position requires frequent travel to all of Goodwill of Colorado’s business units.  Mileage will be reimbursed.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:  


  • Works primarily, though not exclusively, in a Retail setting and will answer Continuous Improvement (CI) questions and requests from members of management and staff.

  • Develop and maintain an effective/centralized CI tracking mechanism.

  • Maintain and make available all CI tools, to include value stream maps, production area sketches, checklists, audits, training and results of Kaizen/Six Sigma events and studies.

  • Work closely with the Learning and Development team to develop and conduct CI training programs. Training will consist of all front-line staff along with all members of management.

  • Facilitate Kaizen and Six Sigma events and studies.

  • Emphasize standard work to gain efficiency in retail and other processing areas.

  • Develop and communicate CI schedule and outcome(s) of Kaizen and Six Sigma events and studies.

  • Use Microsoft Visio to create and maintain value stream maps for key organizational processes.

  • Conduct PI audits and check to ensure realization of efficiencies.

  • Research/verify production and financial performance reports to identify process improvement impact.

  • Analyze data and apply innovative approaches to resolve complex problems.
