Job Description:

SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Operations Leader is accountable for providing leadership and direction to Maintenance Teams and Maintenance Shift Coordinators in order to meet the business need for the efficient production of metal in an Arconic Business System (ABS) environment. Under the direction of the Area Lead, the Operations Leader is responsible to ensure a safe and productive environment.

LEADERSHIP PERFORMANCE:


  • Lead the team in safely producing the highest quality product in accordance with plant quality standards.
  • Ensure team performance goals are aligned to department business objectives and communicated to the team.
  • Engage team members utilizing Arconic Supervisory Excellence (ASE) principles and Human and Organizational Performance principles (HP).
  • Work closely with support resources to ensure the needs of the teams are being met.
  • Act as a backup for the Area Lead.
  • Issue Level 1 and Level 2 discipline after consulting with the Area Lead.
  • Issue Level 3 discipline, after consultation with the Area Lead and with the presence of the Area Lead.
  • Comply with all employment laws and Arconic Equal Opportunity Policies in all hiring, promotions, demotions and disciplinary actions.
  • Monitor improvement activities and take action to capture savings in the DI system.
  • Support assigned area off-shift as necessary.

MAINTENANCE SYSTEMS:

  • Analyze safety, quality and production data for trends and opportunities for problem-solving and waste elimination.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental policies and safety requirement. This includes ASAT, LTT, and SMACT Reporting.
  • Order all office supplies and shop tools to support maintenance needs.
  • Monitor Department expenses and takes action to maintain costs within budgetary guidelines.
  • Lead performance management (IDPs, discipline, constructive feedback) for department.
  • Coordinate planned vacation and overtime scheduling.
  • Lead Roles & Accountability program.
  • Review direct reports' salaries.
  • Maintain Critical Spares Inventory and Machine History list and coordinate with his/her team.
  • Initiate and participate in project or equipment change process.
  • Manage, develop, update, and approve SOP's every two years. Send to Shift Coordinator for review.
  • Monitor Triple I & E investigations, fill out relevant paperwork, and facilitate corrective actions.
  • Approve work requests.
  • Review orders with vendors.

TEAM DEVELOPMENT:

  • Active presence on the floor to coach and support team members and Maintenance Shift Coordinators in overall team effectiveness.
  • Develop and drive accountability to team members and Maintenance Shift Coordinators in the use of the ASE principles and tools (key principles, interaction guidelines, employee engagement, discussion planners, motivation, feedback, communication, change, inclusion).
  • Attend team meetings, ensuring that team meetings are occurring and are led by the team with engagement from Team Start Points, coaching the team to perform in a cohesive manner and drive continuous improvement across all metrics.
  • Reward and recognize teams.
  • Serve as a Star Point Coach for a designated Star Point role as guided by the Maintenance Area Leader.
  • Engage with team members and Maintenance Shift coordinator to resolve team member conflicts as directed by the team's conflict resolution model.
  • Ensure that individual team member development needs are appropriately addressed. Complete Performance Management 3 times annually.
  • Complete all hourly annual reviews in a timely basis
  • Engage the team in developing strategic plans through identifying improvement opportunities and solutions.

RISK MANAGEMENT:

  • Drive the use of all Human Performance tools by the teams.
  • Coach and hold accountable the teams and Maintenance Shift Coordinators in the application of all safety rules and regulations.
  • Ensure that EHS incidents and quality issues are appropriately investigated and corrective actions implemented on a timely basis.
  • Maintain awareness of outage plans and communicate timelines to the Maintenance Shift Coordinator.
Qualifications:

Basic:


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years maintenance and/or engineering experience
  • 3 years experience in a leadership or supervisory role

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or engineering related field
  • 5 years maintenance experience
  • 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role
