What do you get to do in this position?


  • Create and update work instructions for existing processes
  • Champion 5S in one or more sectors for the plant
  • Perform in depth time studies to determine value add vs. non-value add process time
  • Perform value stream mapping
  • Help drive lean manufacturing concepts across the production floor
  • Assist in developing and implementing a production floor training program
  • Data analysis
  • Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of production processes in support of both new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive improvements through Industrial solutions in compliance with Schneider Production System (SPS) lean principles and conform to safety standards.
  • Design and develop layouts and methods to ensure the manufacturability of product.
  • Research on the best available techniques to incorporate into the process, and calculate and improve manpower requirements and efficiency, methods, equipment and tools to optimize the manufacturability of products.
  • Lead and/or support Lean / Kaizen activities.
  • Perform root cause analysis of situations and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop assembly processes, standard work and work instruction and trains workforce.
  • In coordination with quality and engineering team lead PFMEA and the implementation of Poka Yoke and Jidoka.
  • Assist with the day to day SIM issues supporting the production and cross functional teams.
  • Provide support for employee idea system.
  • Other duties as assigned by department manager.

  • Working on a bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or other related field
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, problem solving, project management, and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and self-directed with high sense of urgency
  • Solid work ethic - honors responsibility and commitment
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing; Experience in Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, VSM, Kaizen, Visual Workplace, MTD, LADM, etc)
  • Ability to lead multifunctional teams, manage conflict
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Access and Excel, AutoCAD, Solid work, Oracle)
