Position Summary
Guggenheim Securities is seeking an experienced professional to join its Investment Banking Business Management team as an Associate. The role will support the head of Business Selection and the Chairman of the Commitment Committee, and as part of the team, will participate in processes that analyze critical facts, drive business selection and conflict resolution decisions that increase the probability of success and minimize franchise and other risks.
The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of Investment Banking transaction related experience in the capacity of an investment banker or in a related legal or compliance-oriented role. The ability to work independently and partner effectively in a highly collaborative environment is essential.
Essential Job Functions
Identify, assess and manage potential conflicts of interest to protect client relationships, safeguard confidential information and fulfill responsibilities to our clients
Interact daily with investment banking deal teams as well as with various functions within Investment Banking such as Legal, Compliance and Business Operations
Track ongoing transactions for new developments affecting business selection and decisions made by the commitment committee by monitoring and following up on situations as they develop
Understand business and compliance requirements for different types of communications, including marketing materials, and manage, assess and monitor related processes
Comply with applicable laws, rules and regulations by adhering to Policy and applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices and by escalating, managing and reporting issues with transparency
Identify needs for policy changes and updates
Lead projects to create, implement and enhance processes, create automation and train bankers
Preferred Qualifications
Strength in analyzing complex situations on a compressed time table
Ability to think creatively to solve problems and anticipate potential questions or issues
Excellent judgement in handling sensitive and confidential information
Excellent attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills
Basic Qualifications
At least 3 years' proven Investment Banking experience with significant exposure to M&A
Bachelor's Degree
Series 79, 63; Series 24 to be obtained upon joining the Firm
