As a Drying Process Engineering Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:


  • Leading in the analysis, design, fabrication and commissioning of Drying & Curing projects. 

  • Applies analytical and numerical approaches to model various aspects of drying and curing processes for fundamental understanding and to optimize the process and equipment.

  • Develops conceptual designs for new ovens, prepares specifications and provides cost estimates. Actively works with project engineers and vendors on achieving project objectives.

  • Implements new technologies to improve drying and curing processes and produce high quality products.

  • As a member of safety committees drive oven safety issues and standards related to Drying and Curing processes. 

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Three (3) combined years of engineering and/or manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:


  • Advanced degree (MS and PhD) degree in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related disciplines

  • Experience in drying process, ovens and UV curing systems

  • Experience with analytical and numerical approaches to model various aspects of drying

  • Experience in Air turn and Air floatation with basic understanding of web handling

  • Hands on experience with instrumentation, troubleshooting and commissioning of equipment

  • Practical understanding of fans, blowers, burners, airflows, and emission controls for drying ovens.

  • Experience leading in the analysis, design, fabrication and commissioning of Drying & Curing projects. 

Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
