Finance & Ops Manager

This is an Expense & Operations Manager position in the Global Risk, Analytics and Digital organization, reporting to the VP of Program Management Office.  Candidate will be responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual finance and accounting activities, as well as  coordination with external vendors and internal Chubb departments on operational support.  This position affords a unique opportunity to interact with the senior management on budgeting and expense monitoring and to collaborate with other Chubb functions on operational activities. 

 

 Responsibilities:


  • Support the annual planning process.  Provide current year forecasts by cost center.  Collect plan input from Unit Leaders, consolidate the information, and generate summary schedules and analysis for executive management reviews.  Prepare plan numbers using Finance templates, and upload data into expense planning tool (TM1).

  • Oversee staff responsible for invoice processing and expense reconciliation.  Review and approve invoice payments.

  • Review monthly expense reports; research/analyze any variances; provide variance explanation to Corporate Finance team.

  • Organize supporting documentation for accruals, reclasses, and chargebacks/allocations, and send requests to Corporate Finance to record journal entries.

  • Support VP of Program Management Office in conducting regular expense reviews with other Unit Leaders. 

  • Monitor the expiration and renewals of vendor contracts which have expense impacts.

  • Respond to ad-hoc requests for information and/or operational assistance from other Chubb functions (such as HR, Tax, Legal, etc.)

 

Skills and Experience:


  • Four-year degree in Business with an Accounting/Finance major

  • 6+ years relevant experience in an accounting or financial operations role

  • Ability to work effectively and independently with other disciplines and different levels of management/staff throughout the organization

  • Strong communication skills both oral and written

  • Strong analytical skills, including the use of various internal system applications to gather and analyze data

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Familiarity with enterprise-wide financial systems
