Summary:

This exciting role will develop training programs that are consistent, repeatable, and sustainable.  Our mission is to help SCJ people achieve their full potential with the support of our learning and development programs.  The ideal candidate will possess bias for action and will prescribe develop top learning interventions that continuously raise the learning and development bar across the SCJ organization.

This role will be an internal consultant, able to partner closely with Learning Mangers while executing work independently.  Key competencies and experience include instructional design, project management and execution, multimedia development, with a specialization in digital learning approaches.

The Associate Manager, Instructional Design - Learning Solutions will be part of a creative shared-services team that will establish and maintain the SCJ learning brand, standards, tools, and systems. An ability to quickly build collaborative partnerships within the Global HR Group and across the organization’s business segments is critical. The candidate must also have a global/enterprise mindset and seek to align learning solutions to SCJ business strategy with measurable results.

Finally, the right candidate will also possess an obsession over learner experience and an energy, passion, and commitment to ensure it is consistently great across the SCJ organization.

Essential Duties:


  • Able to work within an agile and flexible model to create value added learning initiatives through deep partnerships with learning managers.  Learning Managers work with clients to prioritize projects and the Learning Solutions team delivers on those priorities

  • Applies instructional systems approach to curriculum design, re-design, and development

  • Applies principles of adult learning to the design and development of learning solutions

  • Designs and develops innovative solutions for in-person and digital learning (job-aids, facilitator guides, slide decks, eLearning, web, video, interactive content, etc.)

  • Maintains and promotes approved standards for all learning solutions

  • Embeds consistent feedback tools and evaluations to determine the effectiveness of the learning solution, aligned across all learning interventions

  • Conducts on-going audits of existing learning solutions to ensure relevance of content and makes changes/updates in a timely manner

  • Understands adult learning and learner needs and is able to adjust techniques for maximum learning transfer and sustainment

  • In alignment with Learning Managers, consults with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure accuracy and usability of the targeted learning intervention

  • Presents training solutions effectively to internal stakeholders and gathers/applies feedback

  • Ability to analyze and recommend learning solutions to support the needs of the business with built-in reporting and metrics of success

Required Skills:


  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in learning and development with a specialization in learning technology, instructional design, and multimedia development

Preferred Skills:


  • Knowledge of and practical experience in applying behavioral, performance, and learning best practices and theories; especially with how technology can be leveraged to accelerate learning and development

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Proficient with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Articulate Studio and Storyline, Learning Management Systems, and other talent technology
