If you are an Electro-Mechanical Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our St. Louis, MO location, you will be a member of the Mechanical Cooling Controls group, specifically supporting projects for the Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) engineering team.  Primary duties will be to set up the Bills of Material and CAD drawings (Siemens NX) for new product models.  Secondary duties will be to assist with lab testing and special projects.  Emerson will pay for the co-op to become certified as a Universal Technician under the US EPA guidelines, allowing the co-op to purchase and use refrigerants.  

AS AN ELECTRO-MECHANICAL CO-OP, YOU WILL: 

• Assist with prototyping

• Assist with other general engineering tasks as directed by supervisor

• Generate 2D and 3D drawings

• Operate laboratory test equipment, machine shop tools, and data acquisition equipment

• Perform data collection

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Current enrollment in a ABET accredited bachelor's degree program in Eletro-Mechanical or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

• At least 3 semesters of course work in the fundamental concepts of the following mechanical engineering principles: Mechanics of Materials, Electrical AC/DC Circuits, Machine Dynamics, Engineering Design, Fluid Dynamics, and Applied Thermodynamics

• Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.

• Basic skills in 2D and 3D CAD  

• Ability to travel up to 10% of time.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role.

 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

• Strongly prefer a GPA of 3.0 or higher

• 3D modeling experience using NX
