SUMMARY:

The Ecommerce Business Development Manager (EBDM) will report to the Director of Internet Resellers and work closely with cross functional teams within the company to perform business development, sales, and account management activities for key ecommerce customers and prospects.

The EBDM should be a highly motivated, sales focused candidate with a knowledge base in Ecommerce. This position will be responsible for top Ecommerce customers at S.P.Richards company, and the primary functions will include customer relationship management, coordination of product uploads and content management, supply chain operations, marketing, pricing strategies, and operational efficiencies. They will be able to uncover opportunities for growth and increase the overall profitability of these accounts.

The EBDM will be a full-time position, and will work out of SP Richards' company headquarters in Atlanta, GA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop and enhance relationships with existing customers, including buyers and product managers to secure SP Richards' position as the preferred wholesaler in the business products category and uncover opportunities for growth.
  • Engage with Content team on product addition projects to ensure we meet deadlines and drive revenue through expanding our assortment on each customer's platform.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on promotional opportunities that will drive revenue through increased exposure and customize for each account.
  • Work with Ecommerce Analyst and Operations Manager to execute pricing strategies and implement optimal freight plans to increase revenue and optimize margins.
  • Use analytics to monitor ongoing customer profitability and process accuracy and efficiency to achieve forecasted goals.
  • Work with SPR's operations' team to ensure compliance with relevant transactional metrics impacting key customer relationships.
  • Identify trends, opportunities, or issues with key customers that could have an impact on revenue or profitability.
  • Manage a pipeline of customer prospects, and secure new business relationships in order to achieve sales and profitability targets.
  • This position will require approximately 30% travel.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Four year college degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in merchandising, buying, business development, or sales in an ecommerce setting.
  • Experience with drop ship ecommerce operations is preferred.


Language Ability:
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills.


Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages. Understanding of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to organize and prioritize.

Computer Skills:

PC proficiency, including Excel, and Word software and e-mail. Ability to obtain, manipulate, organize, and present data effectively is key to success in this position.

  • This position includes periods of spreadsheet intensive work and may require sitting for long periods of time
  • This position includes frequent sales phone calls, and internal communication with other SPR departments.
