The Assistant Treasurer is responsible for supporting the Treasurer and the treasury team in a broad range of treasury and financial initiatives.  The initiatives include corporate finance and capital market activities, evaluating domestic and international financing alternatives, FX hedging, interest rate risk management, capital structure decisions, and optimizing bank account structures domestically and internationally.  In addition, the Assistant Treasurer will be a member of the Investment Committee and assist in the management of the Company’s defined benefit and defined contribution plans.

The position requires superior communication skills for the development of presentations to banks, rating agencies, senior management and the Board of Directors.  Additionally, the candidate will have superior financial analysis skills with the demonstrated ability to build financial models for external parties (banks and rating agencies) as well as for developing internal forecasts; must have a broad base of financial knowledge and the ability to apply it to complex financial situations and develop practical solutions.  Must be able to define and communicate the impact of treasury related decisions to the financial statements.

What You’ll Do


  • Create monthly interest expense forecast


  • Create and update quarterly three-statement financial model


  • Prepare quarterly debt covenant compliance reporting; quarterly and annual disclosure reporting


  • Prepare annual and ad hoc presentations for rating agencies, banks, executive leadership, and the Board


  • Oversee and coordinate f/x trades for repatriation of foreign earnings


  • Oversee daily cash management in the US and Canada and US commercial paper issuance


  • Provide capital structure strategy analyses and recommendations


  • Assist in managing bank and rating agency relationships


  • Manage merchant card program and relationships


  • Provide oversight to defined benefit and defined contribution plans as member of the Investment Committee


Qualifications


  • 5-8 years of related experience, preferably in corporate and investment banking or a similar role in corporate treasury


  • Undergraduate degree preferred or equivalent experience


  • Strong financial modeling, with understanding of how the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement work together; ability to build 3-statement financial model from scratch


  • General understanding of the capital markets, interest rates, and macroeconomic landscape


  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal


  • Comfort in interacting with external parties, including banks, rating agencies, and asset managers


  • You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with team members at various levels, including business leaders
