HPE Federal requires an experienced security officer with knowledge, skills and abilities in the Department of Defense and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) arena. This position requires an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility. Personnel with polygraphs are encouraged to apply. This position is located at the Annapolis Junction, MD facility, and is an Asst. Contractor Special Security Officer (ACSSO) reporting directly to the HPE Federal Security Manager who is based in the Washington DC metro area. The security officer will assist existing senior staff with the implementation of government and company security requirements associated with performance on classified contracts at the Top Secret/SCI and collateral levels. The successful candidate will perform additional duties as an Assistant Contractor Program Security officer (CPSO) responsible for assisting existing senior staff in establishing, implementing, and managing all security requirements and procedures associated with their assigned programs and compartments at the facility.

Responsibilities:

The security office is accountable for day-to-day implementation and coordination of company guidelines and security practices as outlined in the customer and HPE corporate security manuals and security classification guides. Assist the HPE Global Security Services staff in contract guard force management. The security officer will assist the HPE Federal Security staff with personnel security functions, will communicate with customers to obtain rulings, interpretations, and approved deviations for compliance from government customers/regulations. Assist in preparing manuals and/or establishing procedures for handling, storing, and recordkeeping of classified material. Assist staff members in the processing of individuals for personnel security clearances/special accesses; and provide for secure area visit and/or entry control. Responsible for assisting with security awareness training and education classes, providing initial and recurring security briefings; investigate security violations and prepare reports specifying preventative action to be taken. Participate in security and risk assessments. Candidate must be able to work closely with government security counterparts, internal/external program managers, and other industry customers/partners to ensure program success.

Additional Job Description:

Experience Requirements: Experience as or working closely with a Facility Security Officer, as defined in the NISPOM. Experience working with or as a CSSO. Possess a high school diploma or GED. Have 5 year or greater job-related experience. Mandatory understanding of DNI directives and the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). Familiarity with vetted databases is a plus. Personnel Security processing, excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task and perform well as a team player, excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a must.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

5+ years of job-related security experience. Must have a TS/SCI eligibility with Polygraph. Must live in Maryland within 30 minutes of Annapolis Junctions area. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Well organized and detail oriented with an ability to multi-task. Administrative background preferred. High ethical standards are a must. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure.
