Job Description:

The Heavy Duty Truck Diesel Service Foreman / advisor: plans, organizes, leads, and communicates work assignments throughout the service department and customers. The primary role is to lead and coach technicians and customers with repair guidance and will occasionally perform service work based upon business flows. This is a 2nd shift position.

The successful candidate will possess knowledge & skills in the following areas: Heavy Duty Truck Repair / Service Writer / Leadership / Diesel Mechanic / Diesel Technician / Service Advisor / Service Foreman / Working Foreman.

Job Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with technicians and customers utilizing various technology systems.


• Efficiently manage repair orders.


• Communicate with service manager the status of work flows.


• Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations regarding the handling of hazardous waste and OSHA requirements.


• Ensure all documentation is in compliance.


• Maintains a safe, clean, and professional work environment


• Repair and maintain equipment including but not limited to:
  
  
  • Performs work as outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  
  
  • Utilize laptop computers and/or handheld diagnostic equipment.
  
  
  • Utilize instruments and gauges, hand tools, portable power tools, cranes and hoists as needed.
  
  
  • All types of repairs on engines, pumps, generators, transmissions, clutches, and differential units.

Requirements
Education/Certification/License: 

• Heavy Duty Diesel truck technician vo-tech certification or related experience (prior experience preferred)


• Must have valid driver's license with a clear driving record.

• Able to stand and be physically active the majority of the work day.


• Requires lifting up to 70 pounds.


• Excellent mechanical skills.


• Able to work independently.


• Excellent customer service skills.


• Excellent problem-solving skills.


• Strong attention to detail.


• Able to use a computer.


• Able to read and comprehend instructions in English.


• Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
