Job Description:

Position Summary:
The Quality Technician will perform analysis and testing of product to ensure that it meets all necessary food and beverage quality standards. They will work with production to assist with training of standard operator procedures. They will place products on hold that are outside of the quality specifications; assist with developing corrective action to release product, and assist with regular inspections and quality control audit programs.

Responsibilities Include:
Analytical
Perform routine analytical testing on finished and semi-finished productPerform routine plating for indicator organismsExecute environmental monitoring and swabbing programMaintain Good Laboratory Practices program including method monitoring, equipment calibration and verification activitiesPerform routine can seam and bottle closure inspectionsUpdate and maintain laboratory proceduresExecute and assist with validations and verifications including sample collectionAssist with R and D testing including shelf life studiesMaintain plant sensory program
Quality and Food Safety Management
Maintain facility glass and hard plastics inspection programEnsure completion of daily positive release verification activities and release pending productCollaborate with operations to create and maintain standard operating procedures and appropriate corrective action for non-conformances where requiredIssue production holds for product produced outside of specificationAssist with training operations personnel on monitoring procedures, food safety and quality system requirementPrescribe correction and corrective actions for non-conformities discovered on shiftAssist with maintenance of the facility inspection and internal audit programAssist with consumer and customer complaint investigationsAssist with investigating and managing food safety and quality related failures on shift

Qualifications:
All positions require a high school diploma or GED. Associates degree preferred.Previous experience with food processing or packaging required.Previous experience with food manufacturing in the quality function preferred.Self-directed and personally motivatedAttention to detailAble to work in a fast paced environment while focusing on meeting or exceeding customer expectations.Good team player able to work well with others and contribute to a positive work environment.Good attendance and performance track record.Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.Strong computer skills working with Microsoft Office tools to include Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
