Position Overview


The Product Certification Engineer is responsible to ensure continuing compliance of all products to global certifications and regulations.  The individual will keep track of all active and pending certifications, lead communications with certification and regulatory bodies, and facilitate audits necessary to maintain certification.  This role will collaborate with engineering on new product and product certification initiatives, assisting as necessary with certification cost estimates and application development. This position requires high attention to detail and organizational skills with the capability and desire to be continuously engaged with the Team to drive projects to completion.


The Product Certification Engineer will also look for opportunities to reduce the total cost and complexity of the Dynisco portfolio of certifications, driving resulting initiatives. 


Essential Job Functions



  • Must have experience applying for and maintaining hazardous approvals in various area- DNV, KTL, UKCA, ROHS, REACH, and other agencies)

  • Must have ability to understand, interpret, and communicate information from technical drawings.  (2D/3D CAD and PCB layout experience a plus).

  • Must stay up to date on changes to applicable regulations and standards.  Must be able to plan for and adapt to changes and drive effective action to remediate risks to compliance.

  • Maintain all Controlled Document Lists (CDL) for various agencies and manage revisions as necessary.

  • Create templates and process documents for product approvals, integrating with other business processes as appropriate.

  • Maintain certifications budget and evaluate certification value, escalating cost savings opportunities to management.

  • Seek opportunities to streamline product approvals and audit requirements related to product certifications.

  • Engineering Change Order (ECO) ability to own & drive multiple changes to closure.

  • Independently facilitate CAR, CAPA or Non-conformances Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

  • Quality System knowledge (ISO 17025, AS9100/ISO 9001) or others with ability to rapidly identify and resolve system gaps.

  • Internal quality system audit skills and talented remediation expert.

  • Effectively create, prepared and maintain Quality System documents and records.

  • Support Quality Manager and the business by maintaining professional business ethics and ensuring customers are treated with efficiency, courtesy, and respect.

  • Train and guide resources as needed.

  • Create templates and process documents for product approvals, integrating with other business processes as appropriate.

  • Maintain certifications budget and evaluate certification value, escalating cost savings opportunities to management.

  • Seek opportunities to streamline product approvals and audit requirements related to product certifications.


  • Travel required up to and occasionally exceeding 10%

Educational and Experience Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other related technical discipline. Strong related experience with deep domain knowledge in hazardous area approvals may be considered in lieu of degree (may necessitate title change).

  • 5-7 years of industry-related experience

  • A detail-oriented person with superior communications skills, both verbal and written.

  • Proven experience planning and prioritizing workload to meet deadlines & work objectives.

  • Effective quantitative ability, exceptional organizational (records) talent and analytical skills.

  • Strong computer desktop tool proficiency & other manufacturing software (Word, Excel, etc.)

  • Routinely working in cross functional teams and influencing peers on project tasks.
