Job Description:

Primary Duties and Responsabilities


  • Provide operations support and search for technologies related with new equipment and processes associated to thermal break assembly, cutting and packing for aluminum profiles

  • Manage projects on a manufacturing environment with the goal to increase efficiency, productivity, improve quality and OEE

  • Provide day-to-day technical advice, problema solving and support to operations and maintenance by applying engineering principles, reliability tools to drive problems to root cause

  • Develop and propose equipment modification plans based on failure data, craft feedback and OEM design modifications

  • Apply lean manufacturing methodology on the shop floor with production

  • Ensure compliance of projects and maintenance work with appropriate engineering standards

  • Manage multiple projects at the same time including subcontractors both mechanical and electrical

  • Drive cost reduction innitiatives for productions areas

  • Support operations in improving process management and performance. Key success factores include improving line performance and quality throughput, reducing changing overs, reducing equipment downtime, improving overall OEE and efficiency

  • Support operations on failure investigation, leading root causes analysis

  • Document and develop manufacturing procedures

  • SCADA - data collection, historian and andon services

  • Interact with process network, troubleshoot, manage, grant access and setup data analysis ODBCs

  • Develop and propose wireless automation solutions

  • Utilization of various industrial protocols across different types of media. Including cat5e, fiber, wireless, serial, etc. E/IP, Modbus, Modbus Ethernet, DeviceNet as examples of protocols that may be utilized

  • Manage process computers, programs and do backups

  • Troubleshoot process IT issues with maintenance team or local process engineers

  • Apply patches to process network workstations and servers

  • Manage projects supporting operations

  • Manage projects with interaction between IT and manufacturing processes
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Understand manufacturing processes & integration with IT

  • Ability to manage process and troubleshoot, manage & grant access, setup data analysis ODBCs

  • Understand process networking hardware (swtiches, ports, cabling, etc)

  • Understand process networking software (servers, programs, machine-interactions, etc)

  • Smart manufacturing and collaborative systems

  • Project management - knowledge on project management methodology

  • Lean manufacturing - knowledge on lean manufacturing methodology

  • Abitility to work with process control systems

  • AutoCAD skills for creating custom or modified details/drawings

  • Initiative - job requires a willingness to lead, take charge, and offer opinions and direction

  • Problem solving - job requires advanced problem solving skills and experience in strctured, root-cause problem solving methodology

  • Disciplined execution - job requires daily execution to the plan, when required, he/she will be need to be able to dive into details to ensure operational success

  • Energy - job requires high levels of personal energy and initiate to be successful

  • Stress tolerance - job requires accepting criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations

  • Critical thinking - needs to be logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weakness of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-year Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Controls and Automation Engineering

  • At least 4 years of industrial manufacturing experience

  • Experience with network, hardware, software, and machine-interactions
Preferred Qualifications

  • PLC programming experience

  • HMI programming experience

  • Machine control design and build

  • Process Engineering
