Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Material Handler to join our Ashland LLC business at our Calumet City, IL. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Adhesives function. This position will report to Operations Manager.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Entering work orders into maintenance database system


• Packaging liquids into gallons


• Line up for tanks and tank transfers


• Use of labeling software and ability to complete computer-based training


• Move and position trucks and wagons around the warehouse


• Must be willing to work rotating shifts including weekends in a 24X7 operation


• Computer literate to allow: efficient use of computerized inventory management system (SAP)

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

• 1 year certificate from a college, technical school or equivalent experience and training


• Good communication skills


• Self-motivated, positive attitude, and team player


• Must be authorized to work in the United States


• Strong work history that demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

• Industrial manufacturing experience with operation of process equipment to produce chemicals preferred


• Safe driving experience, with fork-lift certification and experience handling hazardous materials preferred
