Forward Air, Inc. is seeking an IT Administrator to keep the Forward Air infrastructure in production, development and test systems and related peripherals operational 24*7 and also support third party software. Support will include hardware and software planning and upgrades, server patching and application troubleshooting. This position will report to Manager of Systems/Operations
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
Performing monitoring, maintenance, administration, installations, and configurations of Forward Air's Virtual Server infrastructure
Be able to manage and maintain NetApp storage cluster
Manage Office 365 environment, including but not limited to Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint
Migrate on premise data center to Azure cloud services. Ensure all servers and systems meet Forward Airs compliancy policies
Must be able to install and configure Window and Linux servers
Utilize industry best practices to design and implement server solutions in support of business objectives
Partner with project teams and technical groups to identify and define technical requirements
Create detailed documentation and drawings of server infrastructure design and implementation
Conduct audits and implement solutions to ensure proper security of Windows based systems
Detects, diagnoses, and reports Windows related problems
Provide 2nd and 3rd level support for application, OS, and Hardware related issues
Ensure system availability and backups are maintained in accordance to SLAs, and lead projects related to complex system implementation and enhancements.
Diagnose, verify, and escalate all hardware, software, and all attached peripherals problems to the appropriate vendor
Perform proactive system evaluations, performance tuning and capacity planning to ensure adequate system resources to support future growth
Monitor system logs, system utilization and processes for optimal performance.
Verify Backup routines and archive backup media
Review and maintain annual software/hardware licenses, software keys
Maintain OS and 3rd party software application fixes
Manage and maintain systems communications, connections, and availability

Qualifications:
College diploma or university degree in the field of Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience is required.
5 plus years' experience in network administration/engineering
Must have in-depth knowledge of Windows and Linux OS (Oracle Linux)
Minimum of 5-10 years' experience in Systems Administration
Strong knowledge and experience with Mail and Active Directory
Knowledge of various scripting languages with an emphasis on PowerShell and Bash
VM Ware experience a plus
Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows client and server environments
Strong verbal and written communications skills required.
Excellent customer service skills are a must
