Waldorf Astoria is looking for a talented Director of Bars & Restaurants to join the Food & Beverage team at the historic, Arizona Biltmore!

Located in the heart of uptown Phoenix since 1929, this gorgeous 39-acre property has 738 rooms, over 200,000 square feet of meeting space and 6 food and beverage outlets.

Fresh off of a much anticipated multi-million dollar renovation, the Arizona Biltmore is adding a Director of Bars & Restaurants to their current team of food and beverage professionals. The primary focus of this role will be specifically on evening and weekend activity in all hotel outlets. The ideal candidate for this exciting position will be a passionate leader with strong bar knowledge and proven ability to seamlessly move from one outlet to another supporting multiple teams, helping to make the guest experience come alive. High volume Restaurant General Manager experience is required, and experience with Forbes service standards is preferred. In this position, you will report directly into the Director of Food & Beverage and will need to be well versed, and show proven successes, in budgeting and forecasting for bars and restaurants.

What will I be doing?

As a Director of Restaurants & Bars, you would be responsible for directing and administering the activities and services of multiple bars and restaurants in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:


  • Direct and organizes the activities of all restaurants, Café, IRD, pools & bars to maintain high standards of food and beverage quality & service.

  • Oversight of all restaurant & bar promotions, activity calendar, activations & special events, service standards, social media sites, service training & hiring. 

  • Responsible for Weekly & monthly restaurant & bar forecasts, scheduling and department profit.

  • Analyzes Daily F&B activity to elevate performance, maximize efficiencies while driving average check & department profit.

  • High focus on achieving Best in Class Social media scores

  • Plan and direct all aspects of restaurant & bar operations to include, but not limited to, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, cost controls and overall profitability, marketing initiatives, systems use and management, budgeting and forecasting, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation

  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, conducting counselling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward

  • Monitor and assess service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards

  • Initiate and implement up-selling techniques to promote restaurant food and beverage and services and to maximize overall revenue, including, but not limited to, creating new menus and cross-selling products and services hotel-wide

  • Recruit, interview and train team members
