What you will do

In this position you will support sheet metal fabrication processes and methods as required for a premier HVAC manufacturing facility as we continue to grow and add new innovative products. You will analyze all engineering changes to determine the necessary creation and/or modifications to sheet metal part routings, bill of materials, and/or programs. The focus will primarily on turret programming (both static and dynamic nesting) and potential programming on robotic and semi-automatic press brakes as we add new products and related production lines.

How you will do it


  • Review and process engineering changes

  • Code all necessary BOM items and review for completeness

  • Assign material to all soft tooled (turret) sheet metal parts

  • Create or modify sheet metal part routings (assign work centers and labor time)

  • Review all sheet metal part drawings for completeness and manufacturability

  • Notify plant supervision of document changes.

  • Provide support to assembly engineers as it pertains to work sheet metal fabrication and equipment capabilities.

  • Look for ways to improve/streamline production processes

  • Support production floor when problems arise on equipment, tooling, and programs.

  • Other duties include leading and/or participating on projects that increase plant capacity, reduce cost, improve productivity, reduce job hazards, and /or improve product quality   

What we look for

Required


  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering or High School diploma (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience in operating or programming fabrication equipment

  • Microsoft Office, SAP, adobe

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with others.

Preferred


  • Amada turret programming experience (Norman plant uses RADAN)

  • Fabrication process experience (press brake, punch press, shear, laser)

  • Strong working knowledge of fabrication processes

  • CAD with solid modeling capabilities (AutoCAD or PRO-E preferred)
