Alcoa has an exciting opportunity at our Warrick, IN location to assist in management of daily operations of a small medical occupational health clinic in an industrial plant of over 1,000 employees!

Meet the Team:

The Occupational Health Nurse will not only meet daily with patient walk-ins from work related injuries & illnesses but also have the opportunity to work alongside our environmental, health, and safety (EHS) department to ensure a safe work environment for all our employees.

The successful candidate will:


  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently or as a team and make autonomous decisions for on-site occupational health clinic under the supervision of the occupational medicine supervisor

  • Deliver direct clinical care and triage for acute injury and illness, and refer to external healthcare specialists as needed

  • Conduct audiometrics, pulmonary function, vision and hearing screenings, and EKG’s for Medical Surveillance.

  • Perform on-site physical assessments for pre-placement, return to work, and fitness for duty evaluations.

  • Perform urine drug screening and breath alcohol testing in accordance with company protocol.

  • Collaborate with plant EHS staff to ensure safe and healthy workplace.

  • Knowledgeable of OSHA record-ability, workers compensation, case management, and government regulations.

  • Responsible for maintenance and implementation of various Alcoa health standards and protocols: develop, implement, and evaluate acute and preventative occ health services and programs as assigned.

  • Maintain health information to safeguard confidentiality and ensure compliance with OSHA and other state and federal health regulations.

Qualifications:


  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing

  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Indiana (or eligible to obtain)

  • 5 years proven experience in Occupational Health, Emergency Room, Urgent Care or Critical Care

  • Proficient computer skills (i.e. word, excel, databases)

  • Prefer experience and knowledge of OSHA recordability, workers compensation, case management, and government regulations

  • Good interpersonal skills with all levels of employees

  • Ability to work alone and make independent decisions for on-site occupational health clinic

  • Demonstrate skill and flexibility in daily tasks and ability to learn and work collaboratively with others

  • Be willing to work infrequent evenings and weekend shifts as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications - CACOH Audiometry and NIOSH Spirometry

Union environment experience is a plus

Minimum Education Required : Associates Degree
