Reports to Pharmacy Manager. Under the clinical supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with departmental policies, procedures and legal and regulatory requirements, compounds sterile products and prepares unit-of-use pharmaceuticals for dispensing and ensures delivery of products and pharmaceutical supplies to patient care areas. Maintains pharmacy working inventory.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
The knowledge, skills, and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a High School Diploma or Equivalent. Indiana Pharmacy Technician License is required, National Technician Certification is preferred. Previous work in a pharmacy, either hospital or retail, is required. The Candidate must successfully pass the National Pharmacy Technician Certification exam within six months of obtaining position. Failure to pass the National Pharmacy Technician Certification exam after 3 attempts (the maximum allowed by PTCB) will result in termination from this position.
Knowledge & Skills
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Computer skills.
Good math skills are an absolute requirement.
Successful completion of Pharmacy Technician Certification Program at EGH.
Working Conditions
Exposure to minor operating equipment and chemical solution hazards.
Physical Demands
Able to lift items weighing up to 40 lbs.
Frequent lifting, bending, stooping and prolonged standing.
Work may require an awkward or straining position to be assumed for short periods of time in lifting or handling heavy objects.
