Reports to the Aquatics Manager. Under the guidance of the Aquatics Coordinator, is responsible for conducting quality Learn To Swim classes and instruction.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
The knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through a background in aquatics programming (swim team, lessons, safety training). Certification through the American Red Cross (ARC) as a Water Safety Instructor, or prior experience with a Learn To Swim program or swim team, youth athletic or skill coaching background is required.
Knowledge & Skills
Requires an enjoyment of working with all ages in aquatics, children through adults.
Requires knowledge of class management skills, specifically with children.
Demonstrates the leadership, interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) necessary to interact effectively with a diverse group of clients, staff, members and facility users in a professional, courteous, friendly and sincere manner.
Requires CPR/AED/First Aid certification or arrangements to be certified within the first three months of employment as an Learn To Swim instructor.
Working Conditions
Works in an athletic club environment, in-water working with clients and students.
May be exposed to frequent interruptions, the potential of increased noise levels and some discomfort due to cool or warm temperatures.
Requires the ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings and weekends.

Requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position.
