- JOB SPECIFICATIONS
- Education and Experience
- The knowledge, skills, and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of a High School Diploma or Equivalent. Up to 1 year experience is required. One year previous experience in a healthcare Central Processing setting is preferred.

- Knowledge & Skills
- A basic knowledge of the operations of a Central/Sterile Processing Department, as well as knowledge of procedures and equipment is preferred.
- If not currently certified, employee must complete the Purdue University Central Service Technical Training Course (or other equivalent course) within one year.
- A basic knowledge of the operations of a Central/Sterile Processing Department, as well as knowledge of procedures and equipment is preferred.
- Working Conditions
- Potential risk due to high level of exposure to blood and body fluids, exposure to ethylene oxide, exposure to high concentrations of hydrogen peroxide, potential burns and/or hot equipment.

- Physical Demands
- Required to lift items weighing 35 pounds in order to receive supplies and load instrument washer and autoclave.
- Frequent lifting, bending, walking and standing on a daily basis.
