Seeking an Entry level Chemical or Environmental Engineer to provide support for environmental site investigations for the Norfolk, Virginia office. Desired applicant will participate in field portions of investigations, review data, prepare plans and prepare reports. Candidate must be highly motivated, customer focused, and work well in a professional and team-oriented environment. U.S. Citizenship is required.

What you will be doing:

• Perform investigations at CERCLA and RCRA Sites for both government and private clients
• Prepare planning documents (UFP-SAPs and work plans).
• Conduct procurement and prepare scopes of work for subcontractors (i.e., analytical laboratories, drilling firms, surveyors, and waste disposal firms).
• Task manage and as needed, occasionally lead and perform field testing, sampling, and investigative fieldwork (groundwater and soil sampling events).
• Travel to job sites to support field efforts.
• Track and evaluate laboratory analytical data.
• Prepare Site Inspection, Site Investigation, and Remedial Investigation, and other reports (i.e., Technical Memorandums, groundwater monitoring reports).
• Conduct research and prepare Preliminary Assessments.
• Other duties as assigned

Bachelor (BS) degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering required. EIT certification desired. Expectation is to work toward getting PE. Prior completion of OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour training desired.

Successful candidate should be fluent in the English language (speaking and writing); and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, research, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical documents and procedures, and government regulations. Ability to write detailed reports, business correspondence, and procedures suitable for client submittal. Ability to effectively present information, communicate, and respond to questions from groups of coworkers, clients, customers, and the general public. Effective communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills are a must.

Candidate must be proficient working with personal computers and basic software applications (Microsoft Office Suite™). Familiarity with ESRI products a plus.
